Day 3 – What a difference!

Today has been a good day. Barney has been hopping about, obviously he get very tired very quickly a when he does his wee he sinks lower and lower on the back leg. He still hasn’t poohed yet but when he is ready I know he will!

Barney had some breakfast this morning hand fed chicken, tongue, ham and a few biscuits; I think he quite likes breakfast in bed. During the day he has been getting up for a little walk in the kitchen and out to our front garden, not far, but he is doing brilliantly. This evening he had, what I would call, his first proper meal for quite a few days, he had lost a stone (14 pounds) in about 10 days before his operation. He really enjoyed his dinner with the tablets mixed in.

I am ordering one of the Ruffwear Dog Harnesses these look really good they are available here in the UK, just have to measure his chest first. I wanted the red one but my husband said no the black.

I have included some pictures as when we were collecting him from the vets there were so many warnings about how the “leg” would look including this website. We were so prepared that it didn’t fazed us at all. I would like to pass on our experience with everyone else in case it helps with other newbies like me.  I have to say that I am so pleased to have found this site as we have gained so much information and so much support.
